Botox and Dysport are injectable treatments made from botulinum toxin type A. They work by temporarily relaxing specific muscles to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines or to address medical conditions like migraines, temporal mandibular joint disorder (TMJ) and excessive sweating.
They block nerve signals to the targeted muscles, preventing them from contracting. This smooths out dynamic wrinkles caused by repetitive facial expressions, such as frowning or squinting.
